Race #6 9/24/14 at NCHS

Thanks to all those who made our last night of popsicle races so fun.  Kudos to all the kiddos who braved some or all of the series, and all of us at TNHSXC, NCHSXC, Bethlehem Prep XC and Bardstown XC loved seeing the future of cross country racing in Nelson County emerging over the past six weeks.  Looking forward to seeing many of these youngsters continuing their running at this weekend's Hillbilly Run and beyond.

Popsicle Race #4 - hosted by Bethlehem XC

Thanks to the folks from Bethlehem XC for putting on a great evening of racing right in the heart of Bardstown.   Extra kudos to Tayshaun Crowe from Bardstown XC for not just earning two popsicle by running two separate races, but by winning them both!  His combined 5k time was a 20:52 - pretty solid, and he's in 5th grade.  Great work everyone, and special thanks to Eddie Masterson and the Bethlehem XC volunteers.

Popsicle Race #3 @TNHS 9/3/14

Thanks to all those who came out and made our second (yet #3 on the schedule) Popsicle Race such a fantastic night of racing - 65 finishing their respective races.  Remember, next week we will be at St. Joe's hosted by Bethlehem.  Hope to see everyone there.  And, remember that once you've signed a Popsicle Race Series waiver, you don't have to do it again.  Just show up, warm up and race! 1k @ 6:00, 2k @6:20, and 3k @ 6:40.

Popsicle Race #3 at TNHS today!

We are ready to roll with what should be a great night of racing as it's considerably cooler today.  Hated to miss last week's edition, but we have no control over what the school officials say we can and cannot do.  Sign-ups open up tonight at 5:30.  And, remember to encourage new folks to come out too.  It doesn't matter how many races you have or haven't done.  Bring it!

Just got word from NCHS that ALL competition at NCHS has been canceled due to the heat index.  

Sorry for such late notice.  We let you know as soon as we know.  See you next week back at TNHS barring any flood or locusts.  

Popsicle Race #1 @ TNHS

Thank you all who braved the iffy weather and made tonight's racing so fun.  The kids had a blast and ran some fantastic times.  Please forgive all of the names that surely were butchered in these results.  A high school kid trying to decipher what a winded, red-faced first grader (who just wants a popsicle) is trying to say yields some pretty wild names/spellings.  I'd be happy to making any corrections.  Just contact me at matt.hoyes@nelson.kyschools.us

Please join us next week at NCHS.  Their course is located behind the school, behind the soccer stadium near the band field.  Enter past the football stadium and walk past the greenhouses.  Also, please encourage all those young harriers that know to join us.  Kids can run any number of the races and are welcome to start at any time.

Right now we are still a go for tonight. It's 4:50 at TNHS and not raining. The rule is - lightning sighting equals all people must go inside for thirty minutes. The thirty minut delay starts over after every lightning sighting. 

Sign ups are opening at 5:30 and first race is at 6. We will try to get it in. Hate for people to come all the way here and have to go home but also hate to be standing here under sunny skies at 6 o'clock having canceled.
