Tonight's Popsicle Race @ NCHS CANCELED!!!

Just got word from NCHS that ALL competition at NCHS has been canceled due to the heat index.  

Sorry for such late notice.  We let you know as soon as we know.  See you next week back at TNHS barring any flood or locusts.  

Popsicle Race #1 @ TNHS

Thank you all who braved the iffy weather and made tonight's racing so fun.  The kids had a blast and ran some fantastic times.  Please forgive all of the names that surely were butchered in these results.  A high school kid trying to decipher what a winded, red-faced first grader (who just wants a popsicle) is trying to say yields some pretty wild names/spellings.  I'd be happy to making any corrections.  Just contact me at matt.hoyes@nelson.kyschools.us

Please join us next week at NCHS.  Their course is located behind the school, behind the soccer stadium near the band field.  Enter past the football stadium and walk past the greenhouses.  Also, please encourage all those young harriers that know to join us.  Kids can run any number of the races and are welcome to start at any time.

Right now we are still a go for tonight. It's 4:50 at TNHS and not raining. The rule is - lightning sighting equals all people must go inside for thirty minutes. The thirty minut delay starts over after every lightning sighting. 

Sign ups are opening at 5:30 and first race is at 6. We will try to get it in. Hate for people to come all the way here and have to go home but also hate to be standing here under sunny skies at 6 o'clock having canceled.
